Tadoba National Park has so much to offer to its visitors, that recently it has become one among the most preferred destinations in India. Also distinguished as the ‘Jewel of Vidarbha’, the tiger reserve is a charming picturesque forest habitat to tigers and other wildlife along with the galore of flora and fauna.

There are a lot of things to explore in and around Tadoba National Park or the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. Set your camera lens to capture the best of views.

The magnificent sights of spotting the Royal Bengal Tiger, or Indian Leopard, Barking deer, small Indian civet, flying squirrel, fox, jackal, wolf, etc. and the botanical family of bija tree, kusum tree, bark tree, bamboo groves, and grasses and so on, can only be done justice with the experience of jungle safari. The Moharli gate is the most popular one among the tourists for tiger sighting during the daytime.

It continues up to 3 hours after sunset. The thrilling experience to spot the nocturnal activities of certain species are truly breathtaking. The chances of sighting leopards and tigers are quite high during the night safaris. However, you must abide by the instructions given by the safari guide to ensure safety.

3. Machan watch: Another latest addition to eco-tourism at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is the machan watch. The buffer areas of Mohurli and Palasgaon have machans, where the tourists can climb at the top and sit to watch wild animals in distant surroundings. The jeeps and the canters booked for the safari will take you there. Two persons along with a guide can climb there at a time and enjoy the panoramic views with a much better visibility. You can carry your own refreshments there but make sure to keep the place litter-free.

4. Tribal acquaintance: Go for nature walks through the tribal hamlets settled near the buffer zones of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. These villages are occupied predominantly by the tribal groups of Gonds, Korkur, Kolams and Andh, where accompanied by your guide you can spend time with them. Visit their spots of work where the highly dexterous artisans and craftsmen carve out beautiful and marvellous bamboo works of furniture, home decors, baskets, swings, etc.

5. Sevagram: Sevagram is a township where Gandhi Ji had set up an ashram, located at an approximate 2 hours drive from Tadoba. It is located at the outskirts and was the abode of the father of the nation from 1938 to 1948, till his death. The museum there preserves the artifacts from India’s freedom struggles. Plan a day trip to Sevagram to get a glimpse of the memories of pre-independent India.
