Maharashtra’s one of the finest wildlife destinations is Tadoba National Park, located in the Chandrapur district. Established in 1955, Tadoba National Park is a significant conservation habitat for Bengal tigers. Along with the majestic big cats, Tadoba is also home to leopards, dholes, gaurs, chitals, sambars, and many more. Apart from the wide variety of flora and fauna species, Tadoba also boasts several species of avifauna as well. In order to witness the wildlife of Tadoba National Park, tourists need to book jeep and canter safaris. The safaris are conducted and managed by the forest department, and visitors are allowed inside the forest, within a stipulated time frame. Both the jeep and canter safaris in Tadoba National Park are conducted in morning and evening slots.
Madnapur Safari Gate is at the eastern part of Tadoba National Park. The safari gate gives access to tourists to enter the Palasgaon buffer zone. Along with the Madnapur Safari Gate, 3 other safari entry gates open to the Palasgaon zone - Chouradeo Gate, Belara Gate and Palasgaon Gate. All these gates lie close to each other, thereby making the commute easier for tourists coming to the buffer zone. The Madnapur Safari Gate remains open during the monsoon season, so that tourists can enjoy the safari rides even during the off-season. Only jeeps are allowed to enter through Madnapur Safari Gate.
