Tadoba National Park is a celebrated wildlife destination in India. Proudly nestled in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, Tadoba National Park is popular for its high count of Bengal tigers. Being a popular Indian tiger safari destination, safari activities are arranged by the Forest Department for tourists to explore the flora and fauna of the forest. Just like other famous national parks of India, Tadoba National Park, too, is classified into core and buffer zones. The basic difference between the core and buffer areas is that the core zones lie in the central and denser part of Tadoba, and the areas surrounding the core zones are marked as the Tadoba buffer zones. The core zones are closed during the monsoon season, while the buffer zones in Tadoba National Park continue with the safaris in a limited number. Jeep safaris are available for advance online booking, while the Tadoba canter safaris can only be booked on the spot.
The Mamla Safari Gate is one of the 15 buffer safari entry gates of Tadoba National Park. The Chandrapur buffer zone can be accessed through the Mamla Gate and is preferred by tourists quite often. The Mamla Gate is located just 16.2 km from the Chandrapur Railway Station and is located in the southern part of the national park. Therefore, tourists can easily reach the entry gate directly from the railway station. There are quite a number of accommodation options available near the Mamla Gate. The entry gate remains open during the monsoon season, and only jeeps are allowed entry through this gate. Another gate that opens to the Chandrapur buffer zone is the Peth-Zari Gate.
