Tadoba National Park is a beautiful and popular wildlife park, located in the Chandrapura district of Maharashtra. The national park is an abode to a wide range of flora and fauna. Therefore, Tadoba attracts tourists from all over the world and almost throughout the year. Since the national park is spread across a vast area, the forest is divided into core and buffer regions, which are further fragmented into multiple zones. The Somnath Safari entry is one of the safari entry gates in Tadoba, through which tourists can enter one of the buffer zones of the national park.
Somnath Safari Gate is a new addition to the buffer zone entry gates. It is the 15th buffer safari entry gate. The entry gate was set up to provide access to the Mul forest range, which is rich in several wildlife species. The zone is surrounded by the Kolsa core zone and Chandrapur and Shioni buffer zones. Booking a jeep safari in this zone is undoubtedly an unforgettable experience. The safaris are conducted in 3 slots - morning, afternoon and evening. Since it is an entry gate to a buffer zone, Somnath remains closed on every Wednesday. The exact timing of the jeep safaris varies with the shift in seasons. The gate is in the southern part of Tadoba National Park, and is quite close to the Kesla Ghat, Zari and Pangadi Safari Gates.
